LIP BALM: Why It’s Important and Which You Should Use

Lip balm is one of the most important beauty products you can own. Nobody, I mean nobody wants dry, cracked lips – not only is it painful but it doesn’t look so great either! Los Angeles has experienced quite the heatwave this summer and my lips are SUFFERING. I have a stash of lip balms on me at all times so that not only do my clients’ lips stay hydrated, but mine do too!

What is the difference between luxe lip balms and drug store brands? Luxury lip balms usually contain higher quality ingredients than drug store competitors. Those ingredients not only keep your lips moisturized better and longer but they are actually going to heal your lips. Also, applying a good lip balm will act as a base for any lipstick or gloss. Not only will the color look better if the lips have been conditioned, but it will wear better as well.

I’ve tried them all! Here are some of my favorites:

TATCHA: GOLD CAMELLIA NOURISHING LIP BALM

Contains a hand-laid 24-karat gold leaf. Need I say more?

BY TERRY: BAUME DE ROSE

One of the industry’s most beloved lip balms. A cult-class product. The ultra-rich salve can be used for anything that needs more love- not just lips!

CHANEL: ROUGE COCO BAUME

Chanel can do no wrong. This moisture-rich balm actually absorbs into your lips instead of just sitting on them.

Now, not all great lip balms have to be luxury.

Here are a few more of my favorites that don't break the bank!
