TBT: EMMY LOOKS
The Primetime Emmy Awards are THIS WEEKEND! Super excited to see all the fabulous red carpet looks (and to add one or two of my own 😎), and I thought I’d look back on some of the looks I’ve done over the years. It’s always a blessing to work with such amazing clients, and I admire their talent, charisma and GLAM so much. I am so excited for all of my clients who are nominated this year, and I’m also excited to really kick off awards season. Let’s gooo.
You better follow along on my instagram stories this weekend! I love sharing the awards experience with everyone when I can.
Let’s take a moment to thank the heavens above for Judith Freaking Light. Have you taken the moment? Yes? Ok, you may continue.
What an Emmy’s week this was!! Judith knows that you can wear anything if you own it. She’s obviously gorgeous, but she accentuates that with personality and bold risks at every turn - that’s what makes her acting so great too!
We definitely used Dermaflash, which gets rid of peach fuzz and makes skin a perfect canvas for makeup. We relied on Chanel for the face and eye makeup, plus some false lashes from Ardell to make ‘em pop. Overall we kept it neutral next to her bright dress, and I think it paid off!
What I loved about this Rashida look was how natural it was. That’s both a testament to Rashida’s natural glow and the fabulous, clean, and simple products from Almay.
My inspiration was to create a fresh and bronze look to match that perfect dress. Her deep lip matched her nail color (always a good idea) and brought out the natural flush of her cheeks. What a stunner she is, and it’s always my fave to work with her. 😍
TRACEE ELLIS ROSS
We used mostly Burt’s Bees products!! Sometimes people write off drug store brands, but those people are missing out.
The skin prep and lips all came from Burt’s, then for makeup I used some of my staple favorites from Charlotte Tilbury and Kevyn Aucoin.
As you’ve probably started to notice, my makeup taste leans toward natural. Given the simple white gown, sleek hair and statement jewelry, I wanted Tracee’s makeup to complete her angellic look. I kept it golden and glowy…hey, kind of like an Emmy Award!
What a throwback!!!! Short hair don’t careeee. Christine Symonds is the hair queen and she made sure Kaley rocked that pixie. Adorable, as always.
I went with pinks and purples because I knew the dress would bring those colors out big time. On the eyes I layered a few blush pink shades and even a light purple shade for dimension. Lips and cheeks all in the blush pink family, and sleek black liquid liner and mascara to make the natural look premium. Wanna dress it down for a non-red carpet day? Use brown!
Here’s an oooold instagram video from this Emmy’s day 😜
What do you think of these looks? Do you want me to share any other red carpet looks in blog posts? Shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if so and I’ll get it to ya. :)
