Benefits of Witch Hazel

I have been receiving a lot of tweets asking what natural products I recommend for light acne. A lot of people who suffer from acne also have sensitive skin, usually due to the large amount of products we apply to get rid of those pesty zits. For sensitive skin, I like to use Witch Hazel- a plant turned into a natural astringent.

You a can find a pre-mixed version of Witch Hazel ready for acne treatment at any health food stores. I even found some at CVS the other day! Witch Hazel has been around forever and is pretty much a "cure all." It is a great natural product to have if you have kids because sooner or later, they’ll face an insect bite or bruise that witch hazel can help heal!

If you don't want to use it as a stringent, you can mix it with a carrier oil to dilute it and use it as a moisturizer. The options are endless with so many different ways to apply this product. Definitely a must-have in your medicine cabinet!!

Witch hazel has been used for centuries to naturally help heal & prevent these conditions:

  • acne

  • skin sores

  • bruises

  • redness and swelling

  • ingrown hairs

  • psoriasis or eczema

  • oily skin

  • insect bites
